Ada lost her child at birth. Neena
just had an abortion. Both women are swimming in a see of
mixed-emotions. Getting back to normal life will be a difficult
process for both of them. Ada desperately seeks to adopt a child.
Neena does not know how relate to her boyfriend anymore. When Ada and
Neena meet by chance one day in a park, feelings will be hurt, and life
will get more confusing for both of them.

Ada
was excited to be a mother, but everything went wrong. Ada is now
grieving the loss of her child, who died at birth. She is faced with
the inability to have children of her own. She is depressed and
slightly unstable.
Jim
Jim is
Ada's husband. He was also excited to be a dad. Jim is frustrated,
and feels isolated from Ada as she suffers from depression. For now,
he has to tough things out, and be 'solid' for his wife.
Neena
Neena
is a college student in art school. She and her boyfriend were not
careful, and she got pregnant. Scared, away from home, and financially
unstable, she made the choice to have an abortion. She is experiencing
mixed feelings and confusion as she tries to get back to normal life.
Supporting: Social Worker (woman)**
When
the social worker meets Jim and Ada, her gut instantly tells her they
are unstable, and not ready to adopt a child. She must, however,
perform her duties with discretion and compassion.
Psychologist (woman)
Ada
sees a psychologist who suggests she take an anti-depressant. Later,
after weeks of listening to Ada's stories and thoughts, she offers
observations.
Boyfriend
Neena's
boyfriend feels genuinely sorry for the mess he helped make. He is
neither aloof, nor altogether attentive to Neena's needs in this
current situation.
Clinician/OB-GYN (woman)**
The
clinician/doctor that performed Neena's abortion meets with her in her
office. She has some practical advice, and some empathetic guidance
for her.
