We are wrapping up our 2010 screenwriters session of Project LightStand. We had an excellent turn out this year with over 20 screenwriters participating and producing new or revised short scripts ready for the next step!
And what is the next step?
Well, any writer who likes his work would like to see it come to life, be produced and come to a screen near you! This is the next step for Project LightStand. It's called "The Pitch". We want to give our writers a chance to pitch their scripts to capable producers and directors in the Metro Detroit area. If you are a producer looking for a quality short screenplay (20 pages or less) to turn into a finished film project ready for screening, then this is your opportunity!
E-mail us if you are a Director or Producer interested in having our writers pitch you their screenplays!
We are planning to have another pitch session in July along with several guest speakers focused on getting your film produced!

Announcing a new Meetup for Project LightStand!
 What: Project LightStand Inaugural Meeting, 2010
When: Monday, March 15, 2010 7:00 PM
Price: $5.00 per person

Project LightStand is a screenwriters cooperative focused on writing producible short films.
Approximately
half of the time is spent in instruction with experienced
screenwriters. The remaining time is spent work-shopping participants'
screenplays. Receive valuable feedback on your writing and screenplay
ideas. Table read dialogue and hear how your screenplay comes to life.
Valuable networking opportunities with other local screenwriters and
film makers.
We have a proven track record generating 6
completed film projects from Project LightStand alumni, several of
which have garnered awards at various film festivals and competitions.
Class sessions run approximately two and one half hours. We meet every other week.
Join us for our fifth year of collaborative screenwriting essentials.

 The home grown SuperHouse writers group known as Project LightStand has just wrapped for its 3rd session. We had over a dozen participants during this lesson, and about 8 completed short film scripts. Each script evolved over the course of the LightStand meetings into a properly formatted short film screenplay. Many of them are candidates for production by producers with in the SuperHouse community. It is our hope that we get a chance to see at least one of these screenplays take shape into an actual film. Over the coming months we will be working to offer our writers an opportunity to pitch thier finished screenplays to prospective indie film producers.

We have just started our 3rd season of Project LightStand, the SuperHouse sponsoored community writing project. Each season lasts about 3-4 months and offers the writers of our community a chance to focus on all those script ideas bouncing around in their head.
Meet up with us every 2 weeks and join in on the interaction and communal accountability all designed to help you write the best screenplay possible.
